About
us... Haunted Honeymoon is held in the home of Scott Connolly and Madeline Stanionis. We don't think we're Halloween fanatics, but here we are ... living in a haunted house for a month or so every other year. We have managed to find a whole bunch of strange horror freaks among our friends who help us put the house together. Mostly, we just have a lot of fun. 2007 is the seventh time we've held the haunted house. We now hold it every other year because it was getting much too big when we held it every year and we want to keep it small and manageable. Our first year, 1998, there were only six of us. That year, we just hung muslin everywhere and played spooky music. It's gotten a lot more elaborate since then - and we're more efficient. Now it takes about six weeks to transform our house every year, from when we start planning to when we sweep up the last cobweb. Not too bad! Why do we do it? Well, when we moved into our house we were bummed that nobody tricked or treated in our neighborhood. A haunted house just seemed to be a good way to get trick or treaters. But then we really got hooked on the idea of doing something cool for the neighborhood kids. AND doing something fun with friends. Can't say that we'll do it forever but it sure is a blast for now.
